The professional services sector includes finance and business services, such as accountants, lawyers and
contact centres and employs over 5,000 people in Lanarkshire. Competitive rents, a large pool of skilled
labour and business support available have made Lanarkshire a choice location for this sector.
International companies such as Teleperformance and Northgate have benefitted from being located
here; North Lanarkshire Council provided support to recruit and train new staff at their contact centres
which also resulted in the creation of jobs for the local population.
