Lanarkshire Business Week
Alongside supporting businesses through funding and grant programmes, North and South Lanarkshire
Councils have also developed other initiatives to promote Lanarkshire as a successful and attractive
business location.
Now into its fourth year, Lanarkshire Business Week is an impressive week long series of events,
seminars and networking sessions organised in partnership with external partner agencies across
Lanarkshire such as Business Gateway, Scottish Enterprise, Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce, New
College Lanarkshire and the private sector.
One of the major events for Lanarkshire Business Week is the Lanarkshire Business Show which has
grown year on year since its inception. With over 80 exhibitors, the Business Show is a packed morning,
with business “speed dating” opportunities, workshops and 1-2-1 sessions and a fantastic networking
event for all involved.

Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards
The highlight of Lanarkshire Business Week is the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards dinner,
now celebrating its 22nd year. The ceremony is an established event on the Lanarkshire business
calendar and has grown in importance and prestige over the years. For businesses taking part, it
can also be a doorway to even more success.
The Awards are hosted by North and South Lanarkshire Councils with huge support from public and
private sector sponsors. The award categories include Lanarkshire’s Best New Business, Best Green
Business, Excellence in Young People Development and Excellence in Innovation.
