Making People
Mears Repair and Maintenance
Mears Local Homes Local Properties provide rapid response and planned
maintenance services in North Lanarkshire delivering in excess of 2,500
repairs every week to a portfolio of over 42,000 homes, schools, offices,
community centres and other public buildings.
Capital Projects
Mears are assisting North Lanarkshire Council to meet the Scottish Homes
Quality Standard by providing a complete design and installation service
for new kitchens and bathrooms. We also provide an assisted living service
by fitting wet rooms and other adaptions to properties to enable residents
to continue living in their own homes. In addition Mears provides a
repairs and maintenance design and build service for commercial buildings,
schools, offices, leisure facilities, office refurbishment, commercial heating
systems and kitchens. We also assist Clients in meeting their statutory
building obligations through our Compliance Team and support them in
meeting their energy needs through the provision of solar PV, LED
Lighting and insulation services.
Mears Employment/Apprenticeship Programme
Mears works with North Lanarkshire Council’s Regeneration team to
provide employment and training opportunities for the people in North
Lanarkshire with over 150 new jobs created in the last 2 years. In addition,
as part of the partnership, Mears has an apprenticeship programme with
over 80 apprentices in various trades including Electricians, Plumbers,
Joiners, and Modern Apprenticeships for administration staff joining the
business. We also provide trade taster programmes for hundreds of school
children who are our apprentices of the future.
Mears Care
We provide high quality and flexible home care for older and disabled
people who want to avoid costly nursing homes and would like to
continue living in their own homes. Whether you want one hour a week
or live in care, our friendly, qualified care workers offer a wide range of
care services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
