Competitive Cost of Living
and Better Quality of Life
Lanarkshire offers an excellent quality of life at a competitive cost of
living. The average house price is lower in Lanarkshire than the average
price in Scotland and over 67% of all residential properties are houses.
There are many recreational spaces in Lanarkshire with fifteen town parks,
five country parks, and over a thousand amenity open spaces. Nature
reserves can be found at Morgan Glen, Cathkin Marsh, Dumbreck Marsh,
Gartcosh and Ravenswood; and James Hamilton Heritage Park is a great
area for other outdoor activities. Choosing to live here offers an idyllic
country lifestyle to raise a family with nearby access to the major cities in
Scotland for days out.
A Sporting Lifestyle
A better quality of life can also mean a healthier lifestyle in Lanarkshire
with no shortage of green spaces for walks and other sporting activities.
One of Lanarkshire’s largest parks, Strathclyde Country Park recently hosted
the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games Triathlon event. The mountain
biking events took place at Cathkin Braes and the Cycling Time Trial also
put the area in the international spotlight. Ravenscraig Regional Sports
facility in North Lanarkshire and the Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride
were also training venues for international athletes here for the Games.
With over 150 sporting venues and clubs in Lanarkshire whatever your sporting interests from walking,
cycling, swimming & golf to martial arts, equestrian pursuits and highland games there are facilities,
locations and events to suit your all needs.
