Driving Economic Prosperity 
Trafford is a thriving, diverse and culturally vibrant borough. Situated at the heart of the Manchester city region, it is celebrated as the enterprise capital of the Northwest. 
I
nnovation is synonymous with Trafford and Trafford Park and the area will continue to attract new businesses in key growth sectors.  This will include university-spin-out businesses: technology transfer companies designed to link commerce and academia and encourage the development of low carbon employment sites. 
The boroughÕs economy generates some £4.3bn worth of wealth each year providing more than 126,000 jobs and boasting over 10,000 companies. 


Town centre prosperity 
The town centres are hubs of economic activity, employment and business growth with a number of developments assisting their long-term vitality to further add to TraffordÕs economic prosperity. 
Urmston 
The £43m scheme spearheading the regeneration of Urmston is ongoing. Up to 140,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space are to be built, including 50,000 sq ft for a SainsburyÕs supermarket plus cafˇs and restaurants, a new contemporary library with community facilities, improved public spaces, a public car park and 144 apartments. 

Altair 
The most significant of Altrincham's developments is Altair. The £158m development incorporates a modern 3000-seat ice rink, complementary leisure and retail facilities, a hotel, 845 car parking spaces, and contemporary apartments. 

Sale 
In addition to its recently enhanced retail, food and drink facilities, Sale is a town that provides a wide range of business accommodation. At the heart of the town is Waterside Centre, adding an attractive urban waterfront to complement the traditional and historic setting of the Bridgewater Canal. 

Stretford 
Stretford is close to the main A56 with convenient access by car, bus or tram.  It provides a welcoming, covered shopping environment with multiple retailers and a wide selection of goods and services on offer.  

Other developments: 
Trafford Park is EuropeÕs largest industrial park and with 1,400 companies employing around 34,000 people investors are showing keen interest in developing this area further.
