Environmentally responsible businesses 
Green issues have been high on the agenda in Manchester for a number of years, but the impact industry and business has on the environment is not a concern reserved for city councils, town planners and big business. Manchester Solutions recognises that individual businesses, however small, can adopt responsible practices to minimise their impact on the environment. In support of this, Manchester Solutions has launched a ÔCarbon Emissions ServiceÕ to help organisations reduce their environmental impact, and save themselves money in the process. The service offers employers a procedural standard for cutting carbon emissions including: 
¥	
a clear procedure for identifying carbon emissions and developing, taking action against and reviewing emission reduction plans 

¥	
a simple, step-by-step approach to the undertaking of carbon emission reductions 

¥	
a method by which an organisation is able to set specific, quantifiable and measurable targets. 



The business community of the future 
The wide range of partners Manchester Solutions works with in the public sector reflects the diversity of services it offers, from individual training support to intensive regeneration and recruitment programmes. Manchester Solutions has a wealth of experience in the education sector, and is currently working with more than 100 secondary schools. It places more than 13,000 pupils into work experience every year and last year engaged more than 700 employers in activities with schools. 
Manchester Solutions is one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the country and its programmes train young people in a number of disciplines, including construction, financial services, manufacturing and childcare.  Some 3,000 apprenticeships were delivered last year with 60% of learners successfully completing their programmes. This is well above the Learning and Skills CouncilÕs target level and sets Manchester on the right track for developing the workforce of the future.
