| District Focus Thameside Delivery The Kent Thameside Regeneration Partnership oversees one of the largest regeneration sites in the UK that will create thousands of jobs over the coming decades. K ent Thameside is part of the Thames Gateway in North Kent and sits on the south bank of the Thames, east of the Greater London boundary. With nine miles of riverfront and more green space than 14 Hyde Parks, it covers the thriving town centres of Dartford, Gravesend and includes Ebbsfleet Valley- one of four key economic areas in the Thames Gateway. The Kent Thameside Regeneration Partnership is responsible for managing the delivery of 50,000 new jobs and 25,000 new homes over the next 25 years, creating a network of open spaces, promoting local town centres and improving public transport. The new High Speed 1 services will connect the area to central London in just 17 minutes. Major projects underway include The Bridge, a £500m mixed-use development covering 264 acres. A joint venture between Dartford Borough Council and ProLogis, the site has consent for 1,500 homes and 1.8 million sq ft of commercial space. Another major project is Ebbsfleet Valley. Led by Land Securities and scheduled to take place over a 25-year period Ebbsfleet Valley will deliver up to nine million sq ft of commercial, leisure and community facilities, along with 10,000 new homes.The first phase, Springhead Park, is already underway. The Strategic Framework for the Kent Thameside Waterfront will guide an expected £30m of investment along nine miles of River Thames frontage. The Framework will create 5,000 new homes and 7,000 jobs by 2026. David Lock Associates have been appointed to masterplan the 3.5 mile Swanscombe and Northfleet stretch of riverfront between Dartford and Gravesend. Leisure facilities include Bluewater shopping centre and there is a strong transport infrastructure, including the award-winning Fastrack Bus Rapid Transit service and Ebbsfleet International.
