The facilities and space available at Kent Science Park have allowed the company to grow from a start-up with three employees to a company with more than 50 staff. The company intends toexpand within Kent Science Park and has plans for a new international headquarters at the site. Fresca Group Investment promotion agency Locatein Kent worked closely with the Fresca Group and Robert Montgomery to assist in plans to develop the UKs most hi-tech greenhouse complex. A massive £80m is being invested at the 91-hectare site near Monkton in Thanet, on land previously owned by Robert Montgomery Ltd. Once the project is completed it is expected to create over 550 jobs. The site, named Thanet Earth, will ev entually include 7 glasshouses, each covering the area of around 10 football pitches. Each will use the very latest in efficient hydroponic growing techniques. Three glasshouses are now operational and producing cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes that are already being sold in supermark et retailers around the South East.
