Courses are informed by our strong links with business, industry and the professions and industrial liaison panels are a standard feature throughout our Schools and Institutes. All our courses include elements of business and management as part of the studies, and 50% of them include business or economics at the core of the degree.

In a global marketplace universities have global ambitions. At Heriot-Watt these are already a reality. As ScotlandÕs most international university our outreach is strong and our presence widely established throughout the world, including our first overseas campus in Dubai and an innovative network of international learning partnerships comprising 50 institutions in 30 countries. Some 75% of Scottish degrees studied abroad are Heriot-Watt degrees, while over a third of students on Heriot-WattÕs Scottish campuses are from overseas. Heriot-Watt University is also the worldÕs second largest provider of distance learning MBAs. Closer to home the University provides a range of facilities, support and provision for business and industry. Our Technology and Research Services (TRS), the research development and commercialisation department for Heriot-Watt, develops links between industry and academia through collaborative research, technology licensing and the delivery of training and consultancy services, as well as providing research support and commercialisation services for Heriot-Watt University staff and students. 
Heriot-Watt Research Park was created by the University to enable companies to establish their own research and development groups within the Edinburgh Campus. The objective is to provide the best possible location for established and new companies to undertake the development of new products, processes and services, through immediate access to all of the University's staff and facilities. The emphasis at the Park is on research, development, design, engineering, training, and prototyping activities leading to manufacture. 
Heriot-Watt also provides meeting and conference facilities at the Edinburgh Conference Centre. With modern facilities situated in the beautiful parkland Edinburgh Campus, provisions range from large events, to lecture theatres and meeting rooms and suites for smaller functions, and attract groups from around the UK and internationally.
