| Transport by Air Edinburgh Airport is ScotlandŐs capital airport, with a worldwide reputation and worldwide connections. O ver 40 airlines serve over 100 destinations, and over nine million business and leisure passengers pass through the airport a year making Edinburgh ScotlandŐs busiest airport. Passenger numbers are set to grow as the airport develops new international connections to Germany, Sweden and Spain. The most popular destinations are in Spain, although Paris, Amsterdam, Belfast and Dublin are also long standing favourites. New York is the most popular long-haul destination, and the top domestic destinations include Birmingham, Belfast, Manchester and the London airports.
