Atkin Framers
Established ten years ago and based at Carmondean Business Park, Atkin Framers Limited of Livingston has a workforce of four, including director Richard Atkin and his wife Monica. 

Alongside bespoke framing services, 
Atkin Framers provide training courses 
for professional and hobbyist framers.
 It is also the first Fine Art Trade Guild accredited training centre in Scotland 
and a Learndirect Scotland-branded 
learning centre.

Richard feels training has benefited the business in different ways including increased turnover and improved infrastructure. ÒTraining our staff helps us to provide good training for our learners. We offer an aftercare service for anyone who trains with us in the form of follow up emails and a telephone helpline.Ó 

There are new courses in the pipeline, including Frame Restoration and Fabric Restoration, which will attract new learners. Richard explains, ÒI think the thing that I enjoy most about running the business is watching peopleÕs progression in a short space of time. ItÕs great to see both staff and customers learn new skills.Ó
