Set up 20 years ago, the PrinceÕs Scottish Youth Business Trust is turning
business dreams into reality for ScotlandÕs young business community.

T

he PrinceÕs Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) was established to assist young people in starting up and succeeding in business. The Trust now helps over 600 young people (currently 100 in Edinburgh) every year across Scotland to set up all kinds of ventures. 
Much of PSYBTÕs funding comes from donations from organisations and individuals. The John Connor Awards, for example, support around 20 young people in Edinburgh who have come from challenging backgrounds and have overcome significant barriers to set up their business (see picture). Other ways the PSYBT helps young business people include: 
Ð	
Low-interest loans up to £5,000 (in some cases a grant of up to £1,000). 

Ð	
The PSYBT Growth Fund can help to develop the business with low-interest loans of up to £25,000 after the first year of trading. 

Ð	
A volunteer to offer business support and advice in the first two years. 

Ð	
A book-keeping system and full training. 

Ð	
Networking Club,ÔElevatorÕ. 

Ð	
Assistance with marketing and publicity.
