Waterfront Edinburgh Ltd The waterfront project is one of the largest urban regeneration projects in Scotland. With 680 acres of land under development, the revival of this site, which connects the city with its waterfront, is of great significance to ensuring the sustainable growth of the city and for the economic prosperity of the region. Waterfront Edinburgh owns 120 acres of land at Granton with 1.3 km of accessible waterfront. A private limited company, Waterfront Edinburgh was set up as a joint venture between the City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian. The site is magnificent. Along the water's edge, a series of terraces look across the estuary and the harbour to the Kingdom of Fife, the Firth of Forth and the Forth Bridges. The Masterplan demonstrates how to create a mix of urban development around a particular sense of place. The objective is to create a place which involves and benefits the existing communities and which attracts investment in a full range of employment uses, housing, leisure, cultural and community development. 2002 saw the first signs of construction at Waterfront Edinburgh. With infrastructure in place, today the area boasts some stunning architecture in the form of residential developments. 3009690B
